YEAR-END REVIEW 3: OR HIGHLIGHTS SPMS ACCOMPLISHMENTS, 2015 PLANS
GENERAL SANTOS CITY (December 28, 2014) – ICTD conducted its year-end operations review for 2014 in the City of Koronadal, South Cotabato at Del Rio Splash Resort last December 5, 2014. Percival Pasuelo and Leonard Pe, IT Officer II and I respectively led the group in presenting what had been accomplished and the what to be done as strategies to be adopted in 2015.
The SPMS Outstanding Rating of ICTD was highlighted during the review. However what had been accomplished was only the beginning of more challenges yet to come. Improve more the monitoring of projects, quality control and the internal control mechanisms of on-going and already implemented projects need to be given continuous focus and strengethened the more. The drive and resiliency of each staff must follow the same crescendo during the start of formal ICTD operation in May 2013.
During the review, regular and job order staff presented their own highlights, plans and own strategies to be used in the coming year. Mark Junnies Narido (Data Controller II) who programmed the RPTS presented the challenges experienced during the implementation especially with the new tax amnesty module added to the said system this year 2014. He was assisted by Marcy Posadas (SPES Beneficiary and former HTC OJT).
Kent Nino Paler (Data Controller II) shared the concerns during the implementation of the City Health Information System especially the automation of the health card as one of the requirements of the Business Permit and Licensing Office during the first quarter renewal of permits.
Maria Corazon Soriano (Data Controller II) presented the continuation of maintenance programming with the implemented Civil Registry Information System (LG-CRIS) – another in-house developed system programmed by Soriano. She will be enhancing the Records Module to fully automate the other three modules namely Birth Death and Marriage applications.
Rolando Patac, Jr. and Roger Tura with their JO technicians showed off their well-prepared accomplishments and their comprehensive status planning for 2015. The computer hardware and software servicing team just like the system development group received their IPCR rating of flat 5 or outstanding rating.
The quality assurance team headed by Anna Lou Buyco and Irene Casipe who both conducted the assessment, pre and post-implementation system testing created a positive impact for both the ICTD and its clients as program bugs are fixed before turn-over making the life of the programmers easy because of the quality control.
Dimple Fermase, Mary Claudette Benatero and William Milo, John Paul Cubero presented their assessment accomplishments and their 2015 plans. They are the newly hired job order Computer Programmers.
Roy Detoyato (Data Controller II) reviewed and emphasized the impact of the government enterprise architecture and the tools that are being adopted by ICTD within the system development life cycle.
According to Percival Pasuelo, ICT Division Head, “Doing it RIGHT the first time Doing it RIGHT all the time” will ideally transform the IT services into standardized work protocols merging the idea of CSC service standards and the ISO work instructions.
Year 2015 will be a more challenging rating period for ICTD as new systems are now queued for development without jeopardizing the implemented in-house developed system since May 2013.
