PAG-ONG AS YOUTH DEVELOPMENT IS PROGRAMMER
GENERAL SANTOS CITY – Florante Pag-ong from Holy Trinity College of General Santos City is tasked by ICTD to develop the YDIS or the Youth Development Information System for the Youth Affairs and Development Office (TYADO) under the City Mayors Office. YADO is headed by Elmer Cequina as the Division Chief.
Main objective of the system is to establish the masterlist of General Santos Out-Of-School-Youths (OSY) by creating an electronic retrieval system where data sourced from surveys conducted will be stored. Once the database buildup is established the system can generate reports for local use intended for CSWDO, PESO, etc and the national agencies that can be served are the National Youth Commission (NYC) and the Department of Education – Alternative Learning System or ALS.
System analysis and design is provided to Pag-ong by Leonard Pe and Roy Detoyato, both from ICTD. System testing using ICTDs quality assurance tools are applied by Anna Lou Buyco and Irene Casipe, both from ICTD. While the hardware and network assessment are conducted by Roger Tura and Rolando Patac, Jr. with their computer hardware and software support staff. Percival Pasuelo, ICT Division Head, monitors the whole project.
Meanwhile, Mark Junnies Narido from ICTD provides technical supervision to Pag-ong for the continuity of the development in which full implementation is scheduled in October 2014.
Timeline to complete the buildup is set before December 2014 ends according Elmer Cequina who leads the youth office.
